The Halifax CPS unit is located on the western edge of the friendly city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This lovely home is located close to Hail Pond, which has walking trails that provide a beautiful place to spend some quiet time. Most of the places where the girls work are in the downtown area of the city, which is a fifteen-minute drive from the unit home in normal traffic conditions.

The CPS unit began in August 2003. This home has houseparents and four girls. The girls volunteer at:

• IWK Health Centre – Help in playroom and with filing
• St. Vincent’s and Veteran’s Memorial Building – Visit, sing, play bingo
• Ronald McDonald House – Clean and bake
• Cancer Care Lodge – Make beds, wash wigs
• VON – Package supplies for home health care
• Halifax Haven Guest Home – Clean, do laundry, make beds
• Spencer House – Help make noon meal
• Victoria General and Halifax Infirmary Hospitals – Way finding
